In 2023, Senator Katie Boyd Britt made history as Alabama’s first elected female U.S. Senator, the youngest Republican woman ever elected, and the only current Republican senator with school-aged children. Senator Britt is committed to advocating for hardworking families and preserving the American Dream. As a member of the 118th Congress, Senator Britt serves on several key committees, including Appropriations, Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, and Rules and Administration. She prioritizes national defense, fiscal responsibility, and effective spending, with a focus on border security. On the Banking Committee, she promotes consumer protections and policies benefiting small businesses and families. As a member of the Rules Committee, she defends the Constitution, law, and civil discourse. Raised in a small business family, Senator Britt holds a degree in Political Science and a J.D. from the University of Alabama. She lives in Montgomery with her husband and two children.
