Christopher Miller became the Executive Director of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in March 2024, leading over 86,000 military and civilian personnel worldwide. He oversees research, development, acquisition, maintenance, modernization, and inactivation of the Navy’s battle force and major combat and Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems.
A Senior Executive Service member since 2006, he previously served as Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfighting Requirements and Capabilities (N9B), advising on warfare requirements, naval system integration, and budget planning. He was also Executive Director of Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, Program Executive Officer (PEO) for the DoD Healthcare Management System, and Navy PEO for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence.
Starting federal service in 2001 as a systems engineer, Mr. Miller previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton. A Vanderbilt graduate, he served as a Marine Corps intelligence officer, deploying to the Western Pacific and supporting Operation Southern Watch.
