Brent Sadler currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, specializing in maritime security and naval technology. His 26-year Navy career includes submarine operations, strategic leadership roles, and diplomatic service in Asia. A 1994 U.S. Naval Academy graduate with advanced degrees from Jochi University and the National War College, Sadler established the Navy Asia Pacific Advisory Group and held key positions at Pacific Command. As Senior Defense Official in Malaysia, he strengthened U.S. military relations and managed critical situations, including the USS McCain collision response. His final Navy role was in the China Branch of Navy Staff at the Pentagon.
