What was your role in the military?
I served in the Army as an Infantry Officer both at the 101st Airborne Division and the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). I experienced two very different sides of the Army, from live fire exercises in the woods of Kentucky to marching in ceremonies in Arlington National Cemetery. I served in the Army's Honor Guard where my company was responsible for ceremonies at The White House, Pentagon, and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
What made you choose Govini?
I used empirical data to inform my decisions at each echelon of leadership in the Army, so working at a company that prides itself in data-driven insights was important to me. More importantly, I'm inspired by the opportunity to contribute to the national defense of the United States.
How has being a veteran shaped you?
The Army taught me the fundamentals of leadership, accountability, and decision-making. I had the privilege of leading dozens of soldiers over six years and in that time, I learned how to build trust within an organization and accomplish a mission with limited information. Whether it meant to or not, the Army also taught me how to appreciate the little things in life—hot food, a roof overhead, a full night's sleep, etc.
