What was your role in the military?

I enlisted as a Combat Engineer with a focus on bridge construction, but with the emphasis on Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, my role shifted to a route clearance company. Essentially, this meant driving ahead to identify and neutralize improvised explosive device (IEDs) before they could detonate on us.

What made you choose Govini?

I immediately realized that Govini has an awesome culture, which stems from its amazing people all driving toward shared goals of improving our defense sector (which I'm passionate about).

How has being a veteran shaped you?

I learned so much in my eight years in the Marine Corps, most of which has helped shape who I am today—both personally and in the corporate world. I learned true leadership and teamwork, mental resilience, discipline and accountability, and—if you know me—I have never lost my love for physical fitness.

How can Americans show their appreciation for veterans?

Respectfully, I’d say they don’t need to. Most of us choose to serve not for recognition, but out of a deep, personal calling and sense of duty.
