What was your role in the military?
I was incredibly lucky to live out my childhood dream of becoming a Naval Aviator—I used to land planes on aircraft carriers, if you'd believe it. I had a very unique career and ended my time in the Navy as a Legislative Liaison to the House of Representatives where I learned how vital a role Congress plays in the Navy's future.
What made you choose Govini?
First and foremost the mission—Govini is delivering value to the warfighter and helping them do their jobs more efficiently, at a time when the world becomes a crazier place. That said, Govini has the best people of any organization I've seen post-Navy and I was excited to join the team!
How has being a veteran shaped you?
Joining the Navy was the best decision I ever made—I got to live out my dream and was incredibly lucky to serve with some of the most inspiring sailors in the world. I traveled the world, met my wife, moved to D.C., and am now at Govini thanks to my time in the Navy. Working with a team is something that the military imbues in you from the get go.
How can Americans show their appreciation for veterans?
Treat us like everyone else—we all have our reasons for serving, and are all proud of our time in the military. We're no different from anyone else, we just chose a career that made sense for us. Ask us questions and we'll tell you all about our service!
