What was your role in the military?
I served in the Army as an Airborne Ranger and Paratrooper. In essence, I had the pleasure of jumping out of perfectly good aircraft and walking long distances with heavy equipment.
How did your experience inform your perspective in the private sector?
Serving in small, high-performing tactical units that emphasized exceeding the standard became ingrained in me. It is what drove me to scrappy, innovative defense tech startups. That experience, coupled with studying at Georgetown School of Foreign Service, helped me to develop a higher-level understanding of U.S. national security strategy, defense strategy, and great power competition, which informs my work at Govini.
