We’re excited to announce Ark’s October Release. The latest evolution of our platform encodes complex Defense Acquisition operations into AI-enabled Applications and Workflows so teams can make superior decisions with unmatched speed and precision.

The Journey to this Release

For decades, the Defense Acquisition community has wrestled with complex processes and countless systems, doing their work in what amounted to digitized graph paper.

We've been there, seen it, and knew there had to be a better way. That's why we built Ark: to move teams from static, manual spreadsheets, to powerful, AI-enabled applications, made for these operations.

With our October Release of Ark, we're taking that vision to new heights, introducing a suite of features and functionalities that help you streamline decision-making processes, collaborate across teams, and gain deeper insights across the defense industrial base.

Ark’s Applications

At the heart of this Release are five Applications, each designed to provide users with actionable insights that matter most. Think of the Applications as custom-made kits packed with resources to support your work. The Applications support these comprehensive areas of the Defense Acquisition process:

    1. Supply Chain

    2. Science & Technology

    3. Production

    4. Sustainment

    5. Modernization

For example, the Supply Chain Application provides comprehensive visibility into the entire supplier and sub-tier supplier ecosystem so you can mitigate risk and make more informed sourcing decisions.

Similarly, the Production Application empowers mission owners to monitor and achieve production goals within budget, schedule, and performance parameters. This Application has tailored information to help you rapidly identify alternative vendors and parts, resolve critical shortages, and accelerate production.

When you’re facing a challenge in these key areas of Defense Acquisition, you’ll know exactly where to go to identify, understand, and resolve the issue.

Introducing Workflows

Within Ark’s Applications are our Workflows. These aren’t just features — they serve as a personal guide to success, automating complex, multi-step acquisition operations from start to finish. The October Release ships with ten new Workflows:

    1. Part Replicator

    2. Supplier Risk Mitigation

    3. FOCI (Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence) Navigator

    4. BOM (Bills of Materials) Manager

    5. Supportability Analysis

    6. Supply Assurance

    7. Demand Planner

    8. Vendor Due Diligence

    9. Market Research

    10. M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) Analysis

Let's take a look at three Workflows.

Proactive Maintenance Planning with Supportability Analysis

Imagine being able to predict maintenance issues before they happen.

The Supportability Analysis Workflow enables you to assess components or Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify problematic parts and resolution actions ahead of planned maintenance or acquisition.

Here’s an example: A program office is planning maintenance for its fleet of aircraft. Using this workflow, they identify several supply chain vulnerabilities, including parts that are about to become obsolete, and others that are out of stock. Rather than scrambling, they can proactively identify alternative sources for those parts, saving time and potentially millions of dollars in unexpected costs. This in turn improves system availability.

Mitigating Risks with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Impact Assessment

The M&A Analysis Workflow proactively assesses the impact of M&A on supplier bases, giving you the information you need to mitigate program risks.

By accelerating the investigation of suppliers’ Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI), parts consolidation, and Key Management Personnel (KMP) changes, this workflow replaces hours of detailed due diligence research with a few clicks. You’ll know of potential M&A-related roadblocks in your supplier base before they happen.

Peace of mind delivered in record time.

Overcoming Obsolescence with Part Replicator

Supply chain disruptions and obsolescence issues can make or break your mission.

To get ahead of the inevitable disruptions, the Part Replicator Workflow expedites research and decision-making processes, providing vetted results to quickly and efficiently source replacements.

When your team has no time to waste, Ark can help them navigate sourcing blockers faster by comparing parts, enforcing critical measures, and allowing them to easily share findings with one another.

What’s Next?

Ark brings comprehensive data, easy exploration, and seamless integration together to power the daily workflows of Defense Acquisition operations.

This release marks a significant milestone, but it’s just the beginning. We’re always building and improving our software with the goal of accelerating the day-to-day operations of the Defense Acquisition community, while enabling them to execute at a scale that’s unachievable through human power alone.
